Tŕezor™ Bŕridgeʬ | Securing℗ Your Digital Assets© ®

A clear, approachable guide to the Bridge application that connects your hardware wallet to the digital world while preserving strong security guarantees.

Overview • Installation • Security • FAQ

Tŕezor™ Bŕridgeʬ is the lightweight, security-first application that safely links your desktop or browser to your Tŕezor™ hardware wallet. It operates quietly in the background, translating and relaying requests so that web-based wallets and desktop apps can interact with the device without gaining direct, low-level USB access. This design keeps private keys sealed inside the hardware, where they remain protected from host-side compromises.

Functionally, Bridge receives structured requests from a host application, forwards them to the Tŕezor™ device, and returns the device’s responses. Crucially, any signing operation is performed by the device itself. The hardware displays transaction details on a secure screen and requires explicit physical confirmation, ensuring no silent approvals and preventing compromised hosts from forging signatures.

Private key protection

Keys never leave the device; Bridge only relays messages.

On-device confirmation

Every sensitive action requires the user's manual approval on the device.

Seamless integration

Bridge integrates with Trezor Suite and popular third-party wallets while maintaining safety.

Installation and updates

Download Tŕezor™ Bŕridgeʬ only from official channels. Installers are available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. After installation Bridge runs as a background service and is automatically detected by supported web wallets. Keeping Bridge and your device firmware updated is essential — updates provide security patches, new features, and improved compatibility.

Best practices

  1. Official sources only: Avoid third-party mirrors or modified installers.
  2. Confirm on-device: Check addresses and amounts on the device screen before approving.
  3. Trusted hosts: Use a private, secure computer for managing substantial sums.
  4. Backup securely: Store your recovery seed offline in a safe, fire/water-resistant place.
  5. Regular updates: Apply Bridge and firmware updates promptly.

Troubleshooting

If your browser does not detect the device, make sure Bridge is installed and running. Try a different USB cable or port, unlock your device, and reload the page. Browser extensions or strict privacy settings can block detection — try another browser or temporarily disable interfering extensions. If detection still fails, restart Bridge or your computer and consult official support resources for compatibility checks.
